  • Share |

Up next in our 18 for October success stories is Danielle and Company.

After pursuing her graduate degree in psychology, Danielle Fleming was searching for ways to reduce stress. She decided to create her own line of natural beauty supplies, selling to family, friends, and local farmer's markets. Danielle soon found that her products were selling beyond her supply and she decided to take her business to the next level.

Danielle needed help in finding a retail space for her growing business so she contacted the University of Scranton Small Business Development Center. Her consultant helped  Danielle create a business plan and located new sources of financing.

Danielle and Company soaps are now sold in boutiques and spas around the world. In the last four years, sales have increased tenfold. Danielle was also honored with the 14th Award for Woman Entrepreneur (AWE) by the Scranton SBDC.

"I'll go back to the SBDC for help in planning and financing this expansion." she said. "They are invaluable."
