Earlier this week, U.S. Representative Charlie Dent (PA-15) presented the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Export Achievement Certificate (EAC) to Lehigh SBDC client, GOW-MAC Instrument Company.

The award recognizes companies that have shown growth in exports, remained in good financial standing, and have benefited from the Department’s export assistance expanding their international sales into new foreign markets.

GOW-MAC is a Bethlehem-based manufacturer and worldwide exporter of high quality analytical instruments for those involved with the detection, analysis, production or supply of gases within the industrial, medical and specialty gas industry. Ken Finke, Vice President of GOW-MAC, came to the Lehigh University SBDC back in 2004 for international business assistance.

Since then, GOW-MAC has been utilizing the services of the Lehigh University SBDC for research assistance, the PA Export network Authorized Trade Representatives and the Market Access Grant Program.

"With assistance from these organizations, GOW-MAC has successfully developed new markets or increased sales to countries such as China, South Korea, India, Turkey and Russia," said Ken Fincke.

As a result, during the last three years GOW-MAC has seen their sales of gas chromatographs and gas analyzers continue to grow at a rapid pace.
