DCED Goes ‘On the Road’ Visiting Businesses in Northeastern Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) will again be touring various parts of the state during their next ‘On the Road’ tour across Pennsylvania.  On March 25, 26 and 27, DCED Secretary C. Alan Walker and Deputy Secretary Champ Holman will be traveling to Northeast Pennsylvania for the second installment of DCED On the Road which will visit Wayne, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Monroe, Carbon and Schuylkill Counties. DCED staff will meet with partners, celebrate the region’s successes, identify opportunities to support innovative initiatives, all while taking note of regional needs.

The Pennsylvania SBDC is proud to support DCED’s On the Road series by hosting and participating in educational events for small business owners. The University of Scranton SBDC Director Lisa Hall Zielinski will be a panelist at the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance’s finance seminar on Tuesday, March 26 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Woodlands Inn. The Wilkes University SBDC will also host a First Step: Starting a Business seminar on Tuesday, March 26 at 6:00 p.m. held on the Wilkes University campus in the Marts 213 room.

DCED’s On the Road tour will host a local government town hall meeting to offer local elected officials and members of the community an opportunity to discuss emerging issues. The three-day event will include several workshops for small business owners with a celebration wrap-up luncheon on March 27. For more information on these workshops or to register, click here.
