7th Annual U.S. Global Growth Conference to Educate Exporters on U.S. Export Controls & Compliance

Saint Vincent College Small Business Development Center's (SBDC) Center for Global Competitiveness will host its 7th Annual Global Growth Conference on Tuesday May 12 in Latrobe, PA.  This conference is designed to address market development, financial risk associated with international business transactions, and to ensure ongoing compliance with U.S. Export Controls and Regulations.

Business owners and managers are encouraged to attend the Global Growth Conference to increase their knowledge of the business of exporting. The event will feature global market practitioners from some of the world’s leading multi-nationals including Alcoa, Baker Hughes, Bayer, Kennametal, PPG, U.S. Steel and Westinghouse who will share their best practices, personal experiences and strategies for success.

Presenters and panelists include James Anzalone, President, Compliance Assurance; Bruce H. Chiu, Director, Cohen & Grigsby; Susanne Cook, Director & Chair, International Business Group, Cohen & Grigsby; Steven Murray, Senior International Trade Specialist U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Commercial Service; Barry Tarnef, Senior Transportation Loss Control Specialist & Vice President, Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.

Specialized sessions on export controls will include “Export Control Reform Update,” “OFAC Sanctions and Embargoes: Russia and other Recent Trends,” “INCOTERMS Risk, Loss, Insurance and Operational Effects,” “Understanding and managing Licenses under ITAR and the EAR,” and “Best Practices, Audits, Disclosures.” An “Ask the Experts” panel discussion will conclude the conference.

The conference will take place in the Saint Vincent College Fred M. Rogers Center from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 12. Breakfast and lunch are included, and the conference qualifies for CPE credits and has been approved for CGBP credits from NASBITE.  The event is co-sponsored by the U.S. Commercial Service Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission.
