The Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) and the Southeast Pennsylvania Procurement Technical Assistance Center (SE PTAC) are excited to announce the second-ever joint program meant to provide specific information on how to take advantage of Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) certifications.

Verification status is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) under the VA’s Veteran’s First Contracting Program. Verification status opens windows for procurement opportunities with both VA’s Veteran’s First Contracting Program and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s (PA) Diversity opportunities. Both programs require CVE verification for participation.

This half-day conference is dedicated to procurement-ready veteran and service-disabled veteran business owners. Procurement-ready is the assurance that small businesses have positioned their company to compete in the targeted Federal and State acquisitions and contracts procurement processes. The conference will teach attendees how to ensure acquisition eligibilities through appropriate registrations, certifications, and verification procedures coupled with documentation compliance and readiness.

Experts from federal and state veteran agencies will be present to discuss their respective programs, give tips on finding opportunities and how to get the attention of those necessary to help business owners succeed. A nationally known legal expert on Veteran business issues will also be present to discuss the Kingdomware Supreme Court case in which the Supreme Court will decide whether the VA is required to prioritize SDVOSB and VOSB contracting. The expert will also discuss the importance of teaming arrangements and Joint Ventures for Veteran and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses to participate in larger government requirements.
