Darlene A. Atta is Founder and Director of The Entrepreneurship Institute, an organizational development, business consulting and training organization she founded in 1996 that works with individuals, businesses and economic development organizations throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. She “retired” from full time employment as Associate Director at the Temple University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in 2007 where she managed staff engaged in general business management, technology, environmental, government procurement and international trade consulting services.
 

While at the SBDC, Atta taught courses in Entrepreneurship at Temple’s Fox School of Business and Management. She also served as project manager on graduate student consulting teams working on innovation projects in Israel, which led to a visit. Atta returned to her consulting roots at the SBDC in June 2013 when she obtained Small Business Administration certification as an International Trade Consultant, a position she holds along with her position as a Senior Business Consultant. Since that time, she has achieved the Certified Global Business Professional credential (CGBP) from NASBITE International.
 

Ms. Atta has completed coursework and comprehensive examinations toward a PhD in Policy and Community Economic Development with a concentration in business development at Southern New Hampshire University in 2007. Until fall 2015, she was Adjunct Faculty in Eastern University’s graduate Urban Studies program where she not only taught in the Community Development Concentration but also served as concentration advisor to students on issues of academic planning, careers, etc. Prior to this she worked as a Human Resources professional for 15 years for a Fortune 100 company.

Karl has led numerous successful business start-ups and new market entries for a broad array of technical and engineered products in international arenas. Karl is a partner in two firms; Material Growth Partners, LLC and CAI Catalysts, LLC. Since 2005 he has been a Senior Business Consultant with the Small Business Development Center in the Fox School of Business at Temple University.
 

Prior to his entrepreneurial career, Karl was employed in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, air pollution control, textiles, and industrial equipment working for companies such as Wyeth Laboratories (now Pfizer), Johnson Matthey, Polymer Group Inc. (now Berry Plastics), and Foamex International (now FXI). Karl holds an MBA in International Business and a B.S. in Chemistry. He is Past President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Product Development and Management Association, and is the Secretary / Treasurer of the 21st Century America-Korea-China Leaders Society. In addition, Karl is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee at Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Ms. Mitchell is currently a Senior Business Consultant at the Temple Small Business Development Center where she provides guidance on starting and growing businesses. She coaches clients in the development of a business model, marketing strategies, operations and human resources strategies and strategic growth planning. She teaches the ESWS course in entrepreneurial success skills.
 

Ms. Mitchell holds an M.B.A. degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Texas Southern University in Houston, TX and Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. She has also done post-graduate studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.
 

For the past 25 years she has been an Adjunct Professor of Business at Delaware County Community College in Media, PA where she teaches a myriad of business courses She has also been an adjunct instructor in management at Cabrini College in Wayne, PA.
