Haberberger Disposal

Haberberger Disposal, previously known as Helping Hands, has been making a name for itself in McKean County. The business serves Kane, Mount Jewett, Norwich Township, Crosby, Ludlow, James City, and Port Allegany, providing residential, commercial, and municipal disposal services. Haberberger Disposal has established a reputation in this region for “Returning Customer Service, One Stop at a Time.” This reputation has translated into a loyal following of customers for Haberberger disposal, which seems to be growing on a daily basis. Central to this business is the owner, Tom Haberberger, whose primary goal is to bring small town customer service back to the local community.

Tom is a McKean County native with a community-oriented mindset. Tom had previously worked for a larger disposal company in the area and saw a shift away from customer service and local pride, of which he admired in smaller companies. Because of this lack of customer service, Tom saw an opportunity and decided to purchase a small local garbage business, Helping Hands. Tom bought Helping Hands and started Haberberger Disposal in January of 2015. Since starting, Tom has created a clear mission for the company built on customer service. Haberberger Disposal prides itself on the notion of leaving the worksite cleaner than it was before their employees got there. No garbage is left on the premises when Haberberger Disposal leaves its worksite, as is evident in the picture below.

The Clarion University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) assisted Tom with a business plan and financial projections that were critical in assessing the viability of business acquisition and in obtaining financing for the project. With financing in hand, Tom was able to purchase two commercial garbage trucks and over forty dumpsters to start Haberberger Disposal.

Since starting, Haberberger Disposal has hired six employees and has nearly doubled its number of customers. With new customers being added every week, the future looks bright for this local business. For more information, Haberberger Disposal can be found on Facebook.
