Business Consultant

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of Scranton is seeking individuals for the position of Business Consultant.

Reporting to the Consultant Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing consulting services to small business clients of the SBDC primarily in Lackawanna and Monroe Counties. (Start up, pre-start up, and existing phases; maintaining responsibility for the management and scheduling of a client caseload in the Monroe County outreach facilities; working to have a viable presence in this location; giving presentations geared to SBDC training topics, and, where applicable, assisting in the development of new training programs at the Center. (Some may be presented in Spanish); maintaining and updating the Center’s website; following MIS and on-line reporting requirements established by the Center in terms of documenting client interactions and obtaining 40 hours of on-going training each year to meet certification standards of the Pennsylvania Association of Small Business Development Centers.

The minimum requirements for this position include a Bachelors Degree in business management, marketing, accounting, finance, or computer related field and three years of experience in entrepreneurship, small business, accounting, finance or computer related field. Fluency in Spanish is desired. Proven demonstration of strong communication and presentation skills and basic accounting knowledge are essential.
