On Friday, July 21, 2017 the Bucknell University SBDC held is annual Celebration of Small Business on Bucknell's campus in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. During the breakfast, four awards were given to the following exemplary small business owners:

InnovateHER Business Challenge
Bucknell SBDC Regional Winner: Kaitlin Schuck, Threading Love, Recognizing her efforts and accomplishments impacting and empowering the lives of women and families
Local Finalists include: Colleen Fritz, Heritage Springs Memory Care; Robin Muller, College Ready Playbook

As a regional host for the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) InnovateHER Business Challenge, the Bucknell SBDC now nominates Kaitlin Schuck to advance from this local event for consideration to be one of 10 finalists who will vie for $70,000 in prize money in a national competition later this year. In additional to prize opportunities, InnovateHER spurs national conversation, collaboration, and cooperation at all levels to support women and families.

Innovation in New Product Development Award: Kevin Langdon, Play Impossible
In recognition of innovation in new product development and exemplary collaboration with Bucknell University’s College of Engineering. Featuring a live interactive demonstration of the Gameball by Kevin Langdon, Bucknell University President John Bravman, and Jacob Mendelowitz ’18, Computer Science student and intern with Play Impossible.

Small Business Environmental Stewardship Award: Pik Rite, Inc.
Recognized for its accomplishments in the areas of environmental compliance, implementing energy efficiency and pollution prevention practices, bringing new innovative products to market, and for developing lean manufacturing practices. Accompanied by Recap of PA Small Business Person of the Year Award to Elvin Stoltzfus, Pik Rite.

Charles H. Coder Entrepreneurial Leadership Award: Isaac Moore, Program Director, Bucknell Professional Network
In recognition of visionary leadership, and for fostering a spirit of collaboration throughout Bucknell University's entrepreneurship ecosystem.
